Greylock secures $1B to invest in early stage founders

Global | Pre-seed to Series A | SaaS
Longtime investment firm, Greylock, has announced their 17th fund coming in at $1B. This fund will exclusively invest in early-stage enterprise and consumer software companies. In addition, they are launching Greylock Edge, which is an exclusive pre-seed incubation program where the partners work directly with entrepreneurs to get product market fit.

Global | Early Stage | Commerce, Payments, Fintech
Visa Ventures will invest their $100M venture fund into AI companies that “that will impact the future of commerce and payments.” They are interested in speaking with companies building across the stack from payments to infrastructure.

Global | Early Stage | Climate Tech
The climate tech firm was founded in 2020 by Tom Chi, a founding member of Google X, and they just announced the close of a $375M second fund. They will back early-stage startups that improve planetary health.
The firm has a globally distributed portfolio, with 70% of companies in North America, 15% in Europe, and 15% across Africa, South America and Israel.

The fifth fund comes in at $525M for ex-Google Ventures CEO, Bill Maris. His venture firm, Section 32, will continue to invest in software-driven businesses in tech and healthcare “that improve the human condition". So far they have already invested in six companies out of this new fund, and are targeting 25 companies to invest in.

Europe and North America | Pre-seed and Seed | Deeptech
The Paris based VC firm has raised their second fund coming in at $75M. Founder and Managing Partner, Alexis Houssou, said “We want to back founders that create a future with more clean energy, more powerful computing, more context-aware robots, better defense tools for democracies, and biomanufacturing that enables us to decarbonize food production.”

U.S. | Pre-seed | Data and Software
First Row Partners, a venture capital firm based in Seattle, has introduced The Ensemble Event Fund. This newly established fund is currently open for applications from startups across the United States, spanning various technology sectors. Successful applicants will receive $150,000 to $200,000 in capital from the angel network.
