Where’s that money? 💸

Global | Seed and Series A | Industrial and Life Sciences
Last week, I included a link to a job that Anzu Partners posted. And this week they announced the close of a new $200M venture fund. I wasn’t kidding when I said that an expansion of the investment team often means more money is coming into the firm.

U.S. Midwest | Early Stage | SaaS
Mercury closed their $160M fifth fund this week. They invest in U.S. startups that are operating outside of the coastal tech hubs. While they have traditionally invested in B2B SaaS, this fund will focus more on Vertical SaaS and consumer-focused startups.

Global | Pre-seed and Seed | Prosocial Tech and AI
The inaugural fund for Founding Partner Vishal Maini comes in at $14M. He is looking for defensible, safe AI companies that can scale post-AGI. Checks will range from $100K to $1M.

Pacific Northwest | Early Stage | Enterprise Software
Fuse raised a $250M second fund, making this one of the largest funds raised in Seattle. The GPs are ready to double down on the Pacific Northwest, with tons of AI talent in the area.

US and Canada | Early Stage | Fintech
The first close of their second fund was announced this week. So far they have raised $71M with an ultimate $100M target. They will continue to invest across fintech, and they offer a more in-depth look at the trends that are getting them excited.

Africa | Early Stage | Agnostic
The Nairobi-based VC firm has raised its second fund at $58M. They will invest in early-stage African startups in fintech, logistics, health, human capital, and climate tech companies.

Africa | Early Stage | Agnostic
Another African venture fund received funding this week. This $25M fund will primarily focus on startups operating in fintech, e-commerce, healthtech, SaaS and AI.
